“I Don’t Want To” was one of Braxton’s most requested songs.
The single originally had no accompanying music video. When the album was released, Braxton was co-headlining with Kenny G and was worn down from the tour. Music video director Bille Woodruff shot the whole video in about a day; it shows Toni Braxton in a white tank top singing and moving around a white room.
R. Kelly wrote the lyrics to “I Don’t Want To” and also became the song’s producer.
Braxton provides both the lead and the background vocals for the song.
