“The Rhythm of the Night” was released in 1993, becoming an instant sensation in Italy. This first version featured Giovanna Bersola, commonly known as Jenny B. 

Later, in 1994, the group released an international version of the song, which became just as popular. It reached the top 10 Europop in the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States, France, Germany, and Sweden.

Song Facts:

• Corona is an Italian Eurodance project that was formed with Olga Maria de Souza and Francesco “Checco” Bontempi. Bontempi left the band after the second album and was replaced by Francesco Conte and Paolo Dughero. 
• Olga Souza, a Brazilian-born model, posed as a singer in the music video. 
• The song features a remix that topped the UK, Canadian, and US charts. It peaked at number 2 and 11 in the UK and US.
• It debuted at number # 1 in Italy and topped the charts for eight consecutive weeks. 
• Bastille sampled this chart-topper in the 2013 “Of The Night” mash-up that also combined “Rhythm Is A Dancer” by Snap! This mash-up reached # 2 in the UK.
• “Ritmo (Bad Boys for Life)” is a Spanglish twist of “The Rhythm of the Night.” Black Eyed Peas partnered with J Balvin to produce this hit tune.
• Corona is still active today, although the only member is Olga Souza.
