“Livin’ la Vida Loca” was released on March 23, 1999 in Ricky Martin’s 5th studio album Ricky Martin. The song title translates to “Livin’ the Crazy Life.” 

Although Martin had spent years with the boy group Menudo and released four other albums, this song took Martin to the next level in his career and is even credited with making a way for other Latino artists, such as Shakira, Christina Aguilera, Santana and Enrique Iglesias.
