• “Big Daddy’s” official remix sampled “Back to Life (However Do You Want Me).” A 1989 hit song by Soul II Soul.
• Heavy D also featured McGruff, an American Hip-hop recording artist, for the guest verse in “Big Daddy (Remix).”
• “Big Daddy” peaked at #10 on the UK Singles Chart. The chart-topper also performed well in the US by peaking at #2 on the Billboard Hot rap singles chart and # 4 on the 1997 Billboard Hot Dance Music

• After a prolonged flight from the United Kingdom to play at a Michael Jackson tribute concert, Heavy D got a blood clot in his leg and died from a pulmonary embolism on November 8, 2011, at the age of 44.
