Charles and Eddie’s “Would I Lie To You?” is a debut single that was a major international success. The song was in their debut album, Duophonic. The American duo worked with Josh Deutsch to produce their biggest hit. “Would I Lie To You?” received positive reviews. 

The song is a Leeson and Vale masterpiece. The two talented songwriters became popular for songs such as “My One Temptation” and “One Man Woman.” In 1992, the two songwriters received the Ivor Novello Award for “Would I Lie To You?” The story goes that the pop-soul duo began performing together after their first encounter on a New York subway train.
