Surprisingly, the song was a result of a religious study session. This 1980 release reached the number 1 spot in 1981 and was able to maintain that position for several weeks. The Library of Congress selected “Celebration” for preservation in the National Recording Registry because of its cultural, historical, and aesthetic significance.
