• This song was released in 1965. It then hit the top 100 charts by August 14, 1965.
• “I Got You Babe” spent three weeks at number 1 on the Billboard Top 100 Hits. It also hit number 1 in the United Kingdom and Canada.
• This album sold 1 million copies, earning it a gold record.
• The last time Sonny and Cher performed this song together was November 13, 1987. Later on, in 2002, Cher performed this song with R.E.M for the first time without Sonny.
